SERVPRO Quickly Responds to Water Damage in Local Department Store.

SERVPRO of Blackwood/Gloucester Township responded to an after hours call at a local department store. Heavy rains caused the roof and drain pipe to leak into the store. Two floors of this three story department store were affected. Our crew quickly responded and worked till early hours in the morning. We worked closely with the store manager to ensure that their product was handled with care.
Our first task in this commercial building is to remove any standing water before starting another process. In this situation, team members also start drying shelves, storage racks, and other units by hand as we bring down the water level. We do this, so we have a clean, dry area to store undamaged inventory.
SERVPRO technicians next established air movement and lower humidity to begin drying inventory and property as soon as possible. We started this with a combination of air movers and dehumidifiers. Air movers push the moisture out of the building materials and the dehumidifiers create hot, dry air and pull the moisture out of the air.
We can direct the airflow of these devices over inventory and structural property to carefully dry them out without causing additional damage.
Our drying process took three days and business was only slightly affected during our process.
